Shadab Zeest Hashmi, serving as president of Aseel Collective, is a writer who has published four books of poetry and nonfiction, coordinated events for National Poetry Month at public libraries in San Diego county, and served for 14 years as the editor of Magee Park Poets Anthology, an annual project of the Friends of the Library. Ishmael von Heidrick-Barnes serves as secretary of Aseel Collective. A native Californian poet, lyricist, editor, and artist who has published two books of poetry. He served as the editor of the Magee Poetry Anthology for three years. Ishmael has collaborated with international fine artists and musicians on cross-cultural projects. Serves as treasurer of Aseel Collective, managing the organization's financial health and sustainability. Combines artistic vision with fiscal responsibility, ensuring resources are strategically allocated to support programming that nurtures creativity, consciousness, and community connection.
