Matwaala Poetry Fest in collaboration with Aseel Collective

We hosted an inspiring virtual gathering celebrating the rich literary traditions of diaspora poets from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. This online event brought together voices that bridge cultures, languages, and experiences.

Participants explored themes of identity, belonging, displacement, and the power of poetry to connect communities across borders. The event featured readings, discussions, and meaningful dialogue about the role of poetry in the South Asian diaspora experience.

We celebrated National Poetry Month with an illuminating evening featuring renowned translator Kabir Helminski. The event explored the timeless wisdom of Rumi through the art of translation, bringing together poetry lovers and seekers of spiritual insight.

Kabir Helminski shared his deep understanding of Sufi poetry and the challenges of bringing Rumi's Persian verses into English while preserving their mystical essence and beauty.

We officially launched Aseel Collective with a celebration of our mission and vision. Community members, artists, educators, and supporters gathered to mark the beginning of this journey dedicated to fostering creativity, consciousness, and connection.

The event featured music, refreshments, and inspiring conversations about the role of arts and culture in building vibrant, thoughtful communities.
